While this is now possible with XRISM, the low surface brightness at large radii makes it prohibitively difficult. Such measurements have only been done in one cluster, A2029, with results that differ from expectations. Expanding this sample with XRISM alone would take massive time investment. Instead, we propose to combine XRISM velocity measurements with indirect velocity measurements via density fluctuations from eROSITA to spatially resolve the ICM radial velocity profile of A3266 from the cluster center (covered by XRISM) out to 1 Mpc (covered by eROSITA).
