XRISM will costrain the level of turbulence in the core of the brightest and nearest clusters and it is thus important to map a variety of dynamical states. A2142 stands up for (1) its high flux in the 2-10 keV band, ideal for a gate-valve closed observation; (2) its intermediate state between a relaxed cool core and a violent merger, mirrored by an unusual radio emission; (3) its rich variety of motions suggested by its extreme sloshing and a close pair of BCGs with extreme difference in velocity along the line of sight. Therefore, A2142 is an ideal target for an AO1 XRISM observation.
